Most of the time I am sporting a hat; however, there are times when I want to show off my natural hair and open crowned hats fulfills my need to do so. I have many friends who have locs and admire many of my hats, but I always get the complaint that they can never find a hat that will fit over their hair. Also some women get hot in hats easily. For both, I would suggest an open crown hat, but not for the dead of winter....it kinda defeats the purpose of wearing a hat in the first place.
